Report Series no. 15 by Aoife Murphy, NERI intern examines factors which may impede equitable transitions towards environmental sustainability in the Agricultural sector on the island of Ireland.
This report assesses sectoral attributes which may limit the agriculture sectors ability to achieve a Just Transition in both jurisdictions on the island of Ireland. Age and qualification attributes of the sectors workforce, as well as issues such as pay and overwork present concerning impediments to the necessary transition. Policy must act to address these barriers.
